My Personal Testimony
~ Mike Abdollahzadeh ~
I am a Baptist pastor; I live in Lodi, California with my wife and three children. My desire is to share God’s love with anyone who wishes to hear about it, Thanks for taking the time to read my story!
As you can see, my last name is not a typical American name. That is because I was born to Iranian parents who met while attending college in the United States. They would later divorce when I was young. Although they were raised in a strong, Muslim background, God would ultimately change their hearts and lives. Today they both serve Jesus Christ!
Coming from a broken home, I was an unhappy child. I did not like myself very much and often got into trouble, But watching how God changed my father’s life helped draw me to him. I began to feel God’s love and acceptance. He gave me a new purpose for life, I also discovered that all my mistakes and failures could only be taken care of through a personal relationship with the Lord. So one Sunday at church, after hearing a message from the pastor, I asked Jesus to come into my life and become my Lord and Savior. I was later baptized by immersion.
I am so thankful for what Jesus did for me, He took the initiative to free me from sin’s penalty and purchased my salvation by dying on the cross for me. The Bible reminds us in Romans 5:8 - “God showed His love to us through the death of Jesus Christ, even while we were sinners.” This amazing love did something wonderful in my life. Now my goal is to “Shine my light before others, so that they will notice my genuine love and service and g1orilr my Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16) What God has done in my life, He certainly wants to do in yours.
